Let the carousel turn!
To see the most beautiful machines and the best riders of the moment, you had to be
present at the Lyon 2-Wheeler Show. A very beautiful show, a huge diversity of offerings and large
events including an indoor flat track specially set up for the occasion
by the entire Vintage Racing Spirit team! The whole Gentlemen's Factory (GF) team
made the trip, an opportunity to ride together and to make the engines and the soles of our boots glow!
Frank Chatokhine, Dimitri Coste, Christophe Decombard, Jeremy Decombard, Pierre
Alexandre Treust, Christophe Canitrot, Marco Belli ...
always ahead on their vintage machines,
Triumph Rickman Metisse, BSA, Bultaco, Aermacchi, Suzuki 600 DR… In their
leather suits and vintage full-face helmets, they look incredibly stylish and perfectly
matched to their bikes. We all dream of being in their tracks and breathing their dust... even if
everyone knows how to slide, few can slide at that speed. Try to follow
Frank Chatokhine for example…Try to whisper something in his ear when his
body is at 45° and his rear Maxxis tire is kissing the circuit walls…. My ass, man!
Flat track or dirt track is a carousel for acrobats!
I came with the new customizable vintage Flat track outfits from Gentlemen's
Factory that you can customize with your name and that you will find on our website
www.gentlemens-factory.com and I was very proud to see my friends riding with them on the
circuit…I dare say in these lines that we were the coolest…well yes! even if I exaggerate,
but I know you'll forgive me for being so complimentary about GF.
Even Zoé David wore our black and white checkered outfit perfectly with her name
front/back. It was Christmas! We had an exclusive… Zoé managed to get the latest
Hedon Heroine full-face helmets before everyone else for a conclusive test. It's true that this
Hedon helmet is beautiful. As for me, I took the opportunity to put a DMD
Rocket 2017 helmet through its paces, comfortable and quiet, it's not the sexiest vintage helmet but it does the
job and unlike other full-face helmets, the visor protects from dust.
In short, I rode… Not fast enough, not enough to be at the start with those who haven't braked
for ages, even where it would be prudent to do so, and there I am thinking especially of Dimitri
Coste and Pierre Alexandre Treust for those who know them. I finished a beer in hand
and a big Hot Dog with Adrien from the fanzine All you Need is Ride. We studied the trajectories
and started guessing who had the biggest…. Life insurance!
